Pinchpoint Development - New Features


I’ve been chipping away at Pinchpoint in what little spare time I have had since #TweetTweetJam4. I’ve added support for waves and levels, and lots of psychedelic, particle-driven “juice” – explosions, screen shake, warp-in effects.

The biggest addition is “coopetetive” couch multiplayer. Two players can play together, competing for high scores. But they share lives. This solves the problem of one player losing all their lives and having to wait for the other player to finish before being able to play again. And it creates the essential “tension” of the gameplay: to get a high score players will have to protect one another, while also competing against one another.
